The Villas
-
Villa Cungi is for family and Villa Cantone is for friends. We are designating rooms for guests based on mobility needs and keeping parents with young children together. When you arrive at your villa there will be signage to make it clear where you are staying. If you have specific concerns on your stay let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate you!
-
We’ll be providing daily breakfast to everyone staying in both villas and will do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions. Due to the nature of our guests coming and going throughout the week we don’t plan on providing any other meals aside from:
- Rehearsal Dinner 5/29
- Reception Dinner and Drinks 5/30 -
Yes! Some rooms have kitchenettes that provide a small cooktop and refrigerator for food storage, but both villas have a large communal kitchen that all guests are welcome to use throughout their stay.

Yes, both Villas provide WiFi access to guests. You will have access to WiFi information upon arrival to your villa.
-
Italy uses “Type C” plugs and in the US we use “Type A”, so you’ll need an adapter to plug in anything you would normally plug into the wall in the US.
There’s lots of options for what to get, but a generic recommendation is something like this from amazon. -
Both villas have on-site parking directly in front of the main structures. If you plan on driving let us know, we’ll try and coordinate parking ahead of time to make sure everyone get’s a spot.
-
Nope! AC isn’t nearly as common in Italy as it is in the states, so be prepared to dress accordingly! Sansepolcro in May averages 75-80°F highs and 50°F lows at night.
The Week in Italy
-
Not at all! If you want to get out and explore please plan to do so! We want our guests to feel like this weekend is as much their vacation as it is our wedding. So, if you want to hang by the pool and read all week, do it! If you want to bus to Arezzo and take the train to Rome, do it! La Conca (the property both villas are on) has lots of trails for hiking, a lake for fishing, and options for mountain biking. Some activities require advanced notice so please let us know if you are dying to do something in particular.
-
Aside from the rehearsal dinner on Friday May 29th and wedding day on Saturday May 30th, no. We have some options for group activities (think wine tasting or truffle hunting) that we’ll try to coordinate closer to the weekend of. Check back in 2026!
-
Like traveling to any foreign country, it definitely doesn’t hurt! Most people in larger cities speak English, but a portion of our event staff may only speak Italian! Even if your vocab starts at “per favore” and ends at “grazie” that’s better than nothing!
-
Sansepolocro is the closest town to the Villa and it’s about 10 minutes away by car. Arezzo is the closest city with high speed rail access and it’s about 30 minutes away by car. If you take a look at our Travel Page, you can get a feel for where the villas are located.
-
That totally depends on your phone plan! You may already be covered under your current plan depending on your carrier, or you may be able to purchase additional coverage for your time in Italy. If you don’t want to change your current plan we recommend buying an eSIM or new SIM card that you can use in Italy!
If you’re not familiar, an eSIM is a digital SIM card embedded directly into a device, like a smartphone, eliminating the need for a physical SIM card. It functions similarly to a traditional SIM, storing your phone number and network information, but it's stored in software rather than a physical chip. This makes use during international travel cheap and easy as you can use your own phone. There are a lot of options for eSIM services but Saily is very highly rated.
-
112 is the equivalent of 911 throughout the entire EU, so if you’re having any type of emergency they should be able to get you the help you need!
For any other types of communication Susan / Phil plan on setting up a group WhatsApp channel to help communicate with everyone in the Villas. -
Nope! U.S. citizens can stay in Italy for up to 90 days without applying for a visa.
-
Yes! If you plan on driving in Italy you will need either an International Drivers Permit (IDP) or official translation of your drivers license. IDPs are issued by AAA and can not be issued once you’re out of the US. Head over to AAA’s international drivers website for application information.
-
There’s a couple different options for getting Euro once you’ve arrived in Europe. Most American banks do not have branches in Italy, but ATMs are abundant. If you plan on withdrawing money from an ATM in Italy, a couple tips from us:
Call your bank ahead of time and let them know you plan on being abroad.
When using an ATM, be sure to select “withdraw without conversion” - this will ensure you use your banks rate and not the ATMs exchange rate.
Pulling money out in larger chunks generally is better for keeping bank fees to a minimum.
If you’re comfortable with online banking we also recommend getting a Wise account / debit card. You can quickly exchange money in real time and fund your global debit card with the best exchange rate and minimum bank fees!
